I’m not an alcoholic–I don’t have the discipline to become one–but, generally speaking, I’ve been drinking too much since Karen left. Consequently, I have some experience with this feeling, those first few nasty seconds of consciousness when you’re hungover. I’m also familiar with what’s worse, which is the relentless and rapid formation of memories the morning after of doing something stupid. That’s what’s happening now.
