My Mother. My Mother has always loved books and has passed that on to me as well as my brother and sister. From my early copy of Black Beauty which was my favorite until I read A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, she has always shared her favorites. I can’t recall her ever censoring my reading. Now as an adult, we swap books and recommendations constantly. We have passed this love of Books to my daughter. I recently passed Perks of Being a Wallflower on to her, which was a top ten banned book last year. An excellent read full of teenage angst, humor and literary references, she loved it. I feel fortunate that we have passed this love of Books and freedom to her.
