It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week.
I just finished After the Wind : 1996 Everest Tragedy-One Survivor’s Story by Lou Kasischke. This is a must-read for any Everest or mountaineering junkie. Kasischke was on Rob Hall’s expedition team and tells his story from a perspective of poor decision-making. His background is in law and risk management so it is no surprise that Kasischke is very methodical and in approaching the the things that seemingly went wrong on May 10, 1996 that contributed to the worst climbing disaster on Everest.
On a much lighter note, I just started reading I’ll See You in Paris by Michelle Gable which will be released in February. From the Publisher:
Three women, born generations apart.

One mysterious book that threads their lives together.
A journey of love, discovery, and truth…

I’ll See You in Paris is based on the real life of Gladys Spencer-Churchill, the Duchess of Marlborough, a woman whose life was so rich and storied it could fill several books. Nearly a century after Gladys’s heyday, a young woman’s quest to understand the legendary Duchess takes her from a charming hamlet in the English countryside, to a dilapidated manse kept behind barbed wire, and ultimately to Paris, where answers will be found at last. In the end, she not only solves the riddle of the Duchess, but uncovers the missing pieces in her own life.

I am really enjoying the literary references and the character of Annie, the college graduate daughter.

Tonight, we are going to see A Christmas Carol at Actor’s Theatre of Louisville (http://actorstheatre.org/). This is an annual tradition for our extended family and one that always gets me in to the Christmas Spirit. I usually read the book every couple of years but not this year. Have you read it? What are some of your favorite holiday books? What are some of your holiday traditions?

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL OF THE MONDAY, WHAT ARE YOU READING?  READERS!!!
